Third Trimester! :-D

THIRD TRIMESTER!!!! It is so hard for me to believe, although I must say, things seem to be going at a steady pace, not too fast or too slow. I'm still enjoying every moment of the pregnancy. It seems that alot of people are in such a hurry for their baby to come, but I really am enjoying every part. Don't get me wrong, I am so excited to meet my Little One, but I am also enjoying these last months with Gabe and with Burty, Duncan, Addison, and Abbi. We'll see if I'm this patient in a couple months. ;) As for now, I'm so happy and I'm loving my life - everything I have ever wanted is happening - I have found "the one" in Gabe, and we have our Little One on the way and I'm a Mommy!

Physically I am actually feeling pretty good as well. It is hard for me to recognize the size difference since I see myself every day, but I must be growing because I have gotten alot of "Wow! You're so pregnant!" and other such comments lately (which I take as compliments, of course). The doctor did say a few weeks ago in a round about way that I had gotten to my weight limit already. I am eating right - I never did that "eating for two" thing, never ran around eating french fries all the time. I'm not exercising like I should, although we have been trying to walk to the dogs more in the morning and we go to the dog park on the weekends. My feet look pretty swollen, luckily they don't feel like they look (looks like it would hurt). My hands have started to swell as well (again, I can't feel it), and I think I'm gonna have to stop wearing my ring soon, which I'm not looking forward to. :( The baby's heartbeat still sounds great and my measurements are good. Doctor says we have a happy baby in there. I got my RhoGAM shot at the last appointment since I have A- blood and did my glucose testing as well (have not gotten results back yet). I have some lower back pain from time to time, just try to remind myself to sit down and take a break before I overdo it, and that seems to help. I find that getting up and down from the floor and playing with kids all day at work is getting harder, I'm just not as mobile on the floor with this belly in the way, lol. Overall it continues to be a pretty good pregnancy and I am thankful for that.

Little One continues to move around and Gabe has felt it move a couple times. I miss it when it doesn't move, and I didn't think it was moving as much as other people's, so I asked the doctor and he wasn't concerned. I feel it at least every day, so that's good. Maybe this means we have a calm baby on the way, haha. I wish Gabe got to feel it more often, but usually by the time I get him over to me the baby stops or calms down. I know I'm gonna miss this special time when no one in the world is closer to Little One and I get all these magical moments with just me and him/her. He/she is about 2.5 pounds now and 15 inches long while the brains, muscles, and lungs continue to develop. How amazing and miraculous!

Everyone seems to be asking if I have the "nursery ready" and if I have bought anything. They seem surprised when I say I still haven't really done much. Maybe I will start buying more and getting more ready after the showers. As I've said though, all a baby really needs is a place to eat (working on that as we speak), go to the bathroom (leaning more and more towards cloth diapers, btw, and boy does that start an uproar), and sleep. I think the showers will help get that side of me going though and I will buy the rest of the items. Actually, we received our first gifts already, and it was so exciting opening them and I love seeing them in the room.

People still seem surprised that we are not finding out if Little One is a boy or a girl. I like listening to people guess and it's going to be so fun finding out if we have a Lathan or Laithan. People ask me if I even have a gut feeling, but I really don't. Even when I have had a couple dreams, I am just carrying the baby around and it is not necessarily a boy or a girl, just a baby, and I am just happy to be holding Little One. I get tears in my eyes and start giggling to myself when I picture having Little One placed in my arms the first time and hearing if it is a boy or a girl. What a beautiful moment that will be! In the beginning almost all the guesses from people were boy. As I have continued to grow, I am getting more and more girl guesses, although a few people will still guess boy. Of course, people have a variety of reasons, I've been told I'm carrying high and low, wide, etc. Being a Mommy is so much fun already!

As for everyone else, Gabe is working alot (12-14 hours a day). We miss each other when we're not together, but I appreciate him so much and I am sooo thankful he is making that sacrifice for our family. I'm still working 10 hour days (although I can't complain, because it's 4 days a week) and handling it just fine so far (people told me from the beginning that there was no way I'd be able to handle it when I got further along). As I mentioned, we try to take Burty and Duncan on more walks in the morning and the dog park on the weekends. Needless to say, they love it! We really get a kick out of watching them play in the mud at the dog park and of course Burty will find every possible stinky thing in the park to roll in. Burty has turned into our personal alarm clock, waking up at 5:00 every morning relentless in getting us up to feed him. Papa has tried to convince him to have a "snooze" option on weekends, but Burty doesn't seem to like that plan. Addison and Abbi are doing good as well and seem to be wanting even more attention from Mommy (Abbi is sitting behind my neck on the pillows purring as I write this). It will be interesting to see how everyone does with Little One gets here. I have decided not to travel any more for the remainder of the pregnancy, which unfortunately means I will not get to attend my SILs shower (this weekend) or see their baby girl when she is born (they're due a month before we are). My sister and my way too awesome nephews came to visit at the beginning of May though, and they will be here for the shower, so I'm looking forward to seeing them again. It just occurred to me that the next time I make the drive to Amarillo I will have Little One in the back seat with me! We'll see how long the drive takes then, haha...

I think that about covers things for now, not to mention it is past my bedtime, haha. Gabe and I joke that we're getting old, but Alarm Limpy (Papa's nickname for Burty, because of the surgery he had and the limping he continues to do from time to time) will be sounding off at 5:00am, regardless of what time I go to bed! Here are the most recent pictures of me, taken today (6/8/10) @ 29 weeks 3 days. (I don't think I'm nearly as "noticeable" in a tshirt, but I wanted to keep the outfit consistent throughout the pregnancy so it would be a fair comparison of the changes.)
